İngilizcede geleceği anlatmak için will ve be going to kullanılır. Be going to önceden tasarlanmış ve yapmaya karar vermilmiş olayları anlatmakta kullanılır. Will ise önceden tasarlanmadan yapılan işleri anlatır.

ÖRNEK

-What are you going to do this weekend ?
-I am going to go cinema this weekend. ( sinemaya gidcegini planlamış ve haftasonu sinemaya gidecek)

- Hey, please come to the party tonight
- Ok dude, I will come tonight ( O an hemen karar verip gelecegini soyluyor)
